Volcano Lightning

Check out this amazing video of a volcanic eruption that features bolts of lightning. If you thought normal volcanic eruptions were a spectacular sight, take a look at this one that occurred in Kalapana, Hawaii. As lava erupts from the volcano and large plumes of ash bellow out watch closely and spot the bolts of lightning that form from the generation of electrical charges in the ash plumes. This amazing phenomenon is also known as a ‘dirty thunderstorm’.
