What you'll need:
- A clock, stopwatch or timer
- A pen or pencil
- Paper to write results on
- Someone to help
Instructions: - One person starts the timer while the other person waits until they think one minute has passed (without looking). After they say “time”, the timekeeper stops the timer and writes down how much time actually passed.
- Swap positions and let the other person have a try. Can you get closer to one minute if you try multiple times?
What's happening?
We perceive time differently depending on the situation, so it can be hard to accurately measure without help. Time may appear to slow down in intense moments of concentration, but it can fly by watching your favorite TV show.
Counting in your head or out loud can help, and you may find other little tricks to make you a better judge of time. | |
